Break and Enter in Brighton

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – On Wednesday February 13, 2019 at approximately 6:15 pm officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Algonquin Avenue located in the town of Brighton.
 
A female who was home alone in the basement area of the residence, heard suspicious activity coming from the main living area of the house. When she proceeded up the stairs to the area she observed an unknown person exit the rear entrance of the home.
 
Northumberland OPP officers with the assistance of the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit conducted an extensive search of the area but did not locate the suspect.
 
Items reported stolen include various pieces of jewellery, an Apple laptop computer, and a Bose radio.
