OPP Warn Residents Of Presence Of Fentanyl in Northumberland County

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The continued commitment and ongoing efforts of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)‎ to ensure the OPP Vision  “Safe Communities, A Secure Ontario”‎ is an effort that ‎involves both uniform and specialized units within our organization.

Recently, the Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit came into contact with a large quantity of a substance that we can now confirm has tested positively as being Fentanyl.

The specifics of the investigation remain ongoing. The OPP is reminding the public that this very dangerous drug is becoming more prevalent as criminals continue to use it as a means to enhance their profits within the illegal world of drug trafficking.

Please remember, you can’t see it – you can’t smell it and you can’t taste it, but if it used in minimal amounts, it can kill you.
