Mischief and Arson at a Local Mine

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were requested to attend a mine located on Unimen Road on May 30, 2021. The complainant reported that three pieces of construction equipment and a small building had been damaged.

Officers attended and observed that two excavators and a rock drill had been damaged and graffiti had been spray painted throughout the area. Officers also located a small building that had been set on fire. The mischief and arson occurred on May 29, 2021 at approximately 8:30pm. (See attached photos)

Damage to the equipment and property is estimated at $30,000.
