OPP INVESTIGATING BREAK AND ENTER

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a Break and Enter at a business located on Ward Street in Bridgenorth.

On Thursday April 4, 2024, members of the Peterborough County OPP were dispatched to a reported Break and Enter at a business that occurred some time after 10:30pm the previous night. Officers attended the scene and spoke with employees of the business who stated they arrived at work that morning to find their store had been entered and items taken. Employees showed officers a hole that had been cut in the ceiling which they believe was how the store was entered.

Officers remained on scene for multiple hours while Forensic Identification Services (FIS) gathered evidence and surveillance video from the scene and neighboring businesses.

Surveillance video showed 2-3 individuals at the location as well as a smaller grey 4-door sedan with tinted windows. A sum of money was taken as well as a quantity of lottery tickets.

Investigators are actively looking for information that may lead to the suspects in this case. Police urge the public to call in tips on this case, or others, to the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line (888) 310-1122 or to Crime Stoppers.
