The Peterborough Police Service is continuing to investigate a weekend assault and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on May 19, 2018 the male adult victim was walking past a McDonnel Street parking lot when he saw a large crowd gathered that appeared to be targeting an individual man. The victim attempted to intervene at which point he realized the man he thought was being targeted was actually attempting to engage the crowd a fight. The man then approached the victim and attempted to also engage him in a fight. During the incident the victim was assaulted and struck in the face. The victim then saw three males fleeing the area on foot.
Police arrived on scene and the victim attended a local hospital for treatment to his injuries.
The three suspects are described as follows:

- Thin build
- 18 – 20 years old
- Short dark hair
- Wearing a sweatshirt and jeans
Suspect #2
- Male
- Aboriginal
- Tall, thin build
- Wearing a backpack
- Scars or marks on his face
Suspect #3
- White
- Darker hair
- Wearing light blue or white long sleeve shirt
