SELWYN BREAK AND ENTER UNDER INVESTIGATION

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a Selwyn address to investigate a Break and Enter which resulted the theft of approximately $20,000 worth of copper.

On Sunday February 2, 2025, members of the Peterborough County OPP received a call from a property owner on Robinson Road in Ennismore to advise of a Break and Enter that had occurred at their property. The complainant advised that the locks had been cut off of his trailer and sea cans, where approximately ten 40-gallon drums filled with copper had been taken.

A review of the property surveillance cameras revealed that a minivan attended the property just after 6:30pm on Saturday February 1, 2025. Just prior to 9:00pm, a red cargo style van arrived at the location with four masked individuals. A comparison was made, and it appeared that the driver of the earlier minivan was in fact one of the four masked individuals.

A Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) attended and reviewed the scene for evidence. Photos of the individuals and the vehicles were obtained from the security footage from the location and are being distributed to request input from the public.
