Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance regarding theft investigations in Brighton.

A number of complaints were reported to police regarding a suspicious person attempting to gain access to vehicles between Ontario Street and Center Street early in the afternoon of September 8, 2024. Officers confirmed a theft had occurred upon arrival and a further incident was reported later on that day where items were stolen from another vehicle in the same area.

Among the items stolen was a method of payment used to complete a transaction at a local convenience store on the same day. The OPP are looking to identify individuals sought in connection with the investigation and are releasing images to the public.
