Peterborough Road Rage Incident

Peterborough Police are investigating after a road rage incident was reported Thursday morning.

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, officers were made aware of an incident that had happened just before 3:00am that morning.

A car travelling from the Cobourg area to Peterborough along Highway 28 was followed by another vehicle that was driving very close, changing speeds, and flashing their high beams. The two vehicles eventually pulled over in the area of Highway 28 and Zion Line, the driver of the suspect vehicle got out and raised a gun which then went off. Both drivers got back in their vehicles and drove off.

The suspect was described to police as:

  • White, male
  • 45-55 years old
  • Salt and pepper facial stubble
  • Heavy set; about 5’9
  • Messy salt and pepper hair

The suspect vehicle was described to police as:

  • A dark-coloured pickup truck (possibly a Nissan Frontier)

As part of the investigation, officers attended the area of the incident and are asking anyone who may witnessed the two vehicles or have any dash cam footage of Highway 28 between Cobourg and Peterborough between 2:30am and 3:30am on Thursday, September 8, 2022, to come forward.
