On May 11, 2023, at approximately 9:30pm, members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call in regard to a structure fire at a residence on Northern Avenue in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. Officers attended where fire crews were dealing with a fully engulfed structure fire.
A short distance from the fire scene, a person was located with serious burns and was transported to a trauma centre in Toronto.
The Office of the Fire Marshal was contacted and will be attending to investigate.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
